I want to make sure I give my kids the proper diet and daily regiment to help them achieve their full growth potential. Am currenlty giving them lots of fruits, veggies, vitamins, 9 hours sleep, and exercise. What specific foods, vitamins, health tips can help me in targeting maximum growth.
Wow, it sounds like you are doing a terrific job trying to keep your boys healthy! Just make sure that you continue to offer them a good variety of foods, low cholesterol protein, plenty of fruits and veggies, dairy, etc. and continue to emphasize the need for plenty of sleep and exercise and they should be just fine.
Keep up the good work, your boys will be sooo thankful to you later on in their lives.

I suffer from toenail fungus, and I’ve tried ALL home remedies available without success. I’m also about to buy health insurance. I thought I would take this opportunity to finally visit the doctor and get rid of this problem. My questions are:
1. Which health insurance plans offer the best coverage to treat toenail fungus?
2. Do they cover the medication and the surgery required in some cases to remove the toenail?

Aspartame (E951) is an artificial sweetener, present in over 6000 products. The food industry says it helps you to lose weight, but why is obesity then becoming an ever increasing problem? It can be found in products with any of the following labels: Light, Diet, Sugarfree, Zero, Pepsi Max, Low-Calorie, No Sugar Added, NutraSweet, Equal, NatraTaste, Canderel, Spoonful, Equal-Measure, etc. Aspartame is a sweet chemical, causing many health problems such as Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, ADHD, epilepsy, migraines, mood swings as well as cancer and psychological ailments. It breaks down into 3 components: 1. Methanol, which is the poisonous kind of alcohol. Methanol further breaks down into formaldehyde, an embalming fluid! 2. Phenylalanine, which decreases the amount serotonin in your brain, which causes mood swings, depressions and an increase(!) in appetite. 3. Aspartic acid, a neurological toxin like MSG. To summarize, aspartame is not at all a health food! In fact there are 92 symptoms (!) recorded by the US Department of Health following complaints by aspartame users. In fact over 80% of all complaints filed with FDA are aspartame related! If you use any products that say Diet, Light, Zero, sugar-free, no sugar added, low calorie etc, take 10 minutes and watch this excellent investigative report by FOX 5 News (Washington DC). Don’t believe the lies of the food industry any longer. Contrary to what the ‘health experts’ say, this stuff is NOT safe. Aspartame is a sweet poison designed to make you sick so the pharmaceutical industry can then sell you expensive medication and pills to ‘treat’ the diseases that are caused by aspartame in the first place. Do your self a big favor and remove this poisonous chemical out of your diet for 60 days and discover how your health will improve dramatically! Aspartame health risk are MS heart attacks ADD ALS Lou Gehrig’s disease hormonal imbalance anxiety depression slurred speech insomnia MSG leukemia autism overweight headaches diabetes diarreha joint pain dizziness allergies brain damage.

Here’s the low-down on what I’m doing to lose weight and how it works.
1. Figure out what your “maintain weight” calories are and eat 500 calories LESS than that number every day.
2. Exercise for at least 30 minutes, 5x/week.
3. Drink water! Divide your weight in half and drink that number in ounces of water every day.
(4. Make healthier choices as you go along and get better at doing steps 1-3.)
FROM THE VIDEO:
The salad is:
1 Bowl of Romaine Lettuce and Spinach
2 Tbsp Light Vinaigrette Dressing
1/2 Tomato, sliced
1/4 Cucumber, peeled and sliced
1/4 Cup Garlic Feta Cheese
= around 110-130 calories
YUM!
Green Tea (and similar Asian teas), English Breakfast Tea and Irish Breakfast Tea need no sweetener if you use 1 Tsp of lemon juice instead (0 calories).
Vanilla chai (and decaf vanilla chai), peppermint tea and bangal spice teas all also need no sweeteners or additives of any kind.
If you have questions, feel free to ask!

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009/09/18/earlyshow/health/main5320092.shtml
(CBS) In the last final installment of the three-part “Early Show” “Healthy Hearts” series, CBS News medical correspondent Dr. Jennifer Ashton shared a way to transform every meal into a healthier option for your heart.
And in the U.S. it’s important to look for those options, Ashton said, because, according to the American Heart Association (AHA), 80 million Americans are living with some form of heart disease. And heart disease claims more than 864,000 lives every year — that’s one death every 37 seconds.
“Parachute” May Help Some Heart Patients
So, to help your heart at every meal, Ashton said you should look to control your diet with healthier alternatives. And one way to do that, she explained, is to remember this heart healthy equation for your meal’s nutritional content: subtract salt, add omega-3 fatty acids and add antioxidants:
SUBTRACTING SALT
• Use herbs and spices
• Swap in vegetables
• Look for no-sodium options
How to incorporate for each meal:
• Start your morning off by flavoring your eggs with fresh herbs instead — it will give them a boost of flavor.
• For lunch, you can swap those chips and pretzels for vegetable sticks. You’re not only getting a healthier crunch, but you can shave off some sodium from your diet.
• Look for no-sodium options — it’s easier to add salt back in, if you need to, than take it out. According to the American Heart Association (AHA), Americans consume up to 75 percent of their sodium from processed foods like tomato sauce, soups, condiments, canned foods and prepared mixes.
Getting a Healthy Heart at Work
But how much salt per day should we limit ourselves to?
AHA guidelines are 2,300 mg per day, which is less than one tsp, and less for some people. (African Americans, middle-aged and older adults, and people with high blood pressure should have no more than 1,500 mg per day.)
ADDING OMEGA-3 FATTY ACIDS
Sources: Fish, Tofu, Soybeans, Walnuts, Fortified Breads/Peanut Butter
How to incorporate for each meal:
• You can add walnuts for some crunch to your morning oatmeal.
• For lunch, make sure you use fortified breads that contain omega-3 fatty acids — and look for peanut butter, which now contain omega-3 fatty acids.
• When you sit down for dinner, opt for something like grilled salmon. There are several types of omega-3 fatty acids. Two crucial omega-3 fatty acids — EPA and DHA — are primarily found in certain fish.
How can omega-3’s help our hearts?
Fatty fish and omega-3 fatty acids help to combat risk factors for a range of heart-related conditions such as lowering levels of triglycerides (fats in the blood), blood pressure, heart rate and heart rate variability.
Ashton cited a recent European study that reported eating fatty fish and marine omega-3 fatty acids seemed to protect men from heart failure. Men who ate fatty fish once a week were 12 percent less likely to develop heart failure, compared to men who never eat fatty fish.
ADDING ANTIOXIDANTS
Sources: Berries, Beans, Russet Potatoes, Dark Chocolate
• A side of berries can really boost your breakfast. Blueberries, strawberries and blackberries pack a high antioxidant punch. Antioxidants are believed to help prevent and repair oxidative stress, a process that damages your body’s cells, and has been linked to the development of heart disease.
• For lunch, try to incorporate beans in your salad. Researchers say that red beans contain more disease-fighting antioxidants than blueberries.
• For dinner, have a baked russet potato — Yes, they have antioxidants! Or, help yourself to some dark chocolate for dessert.

A critical facet of the US EPA’s mission is to protect public health. EPA is embracing new technologies to assist in fulfilling that mission. Virtual globes allow the Agency to furnish
real time air quality data and emissions information to the public through tools like Google Earth. By interfacing with a tool that is
widely available and already in use by many citizens, EPA can more effectively communicate with the public. In turn, the public can get current air quality and health data that can help them avoid exposure to unhealthy air, as well as become more informed about their local environment.

Protection Agency since that time. Phil was a founding member of the AIRNow realtime air quality team, serving as the IT advisor for the
program since its inception in 1998. He was also part of the team that developed the EnviroFlash real-time notification system, providing the public with real-time alerts based on air quality forecasts. Currently, Phil is the AIRNow Program Director as part of his duties
as Group Leader for the Information Transfer Group (ITG) in the Outreach and Information Division. ITG manages a number of data
systems and web sites, serving as a test bed for new technologies such as virtual globes. He is currently leading the effort to build
“AIRNow-International”, sharing the expertise gained from the US AIRNow program with the rest of the world, through a pilot project with Shanghai, China.
