National Health Insurance Debate Under Nixon

October 28th, 2009 -- Posted in health insurance | No Comments »

In 1971, President Nixon proposed a national health insurance plan built on heavily employer private coverage. Senator Ted Kennedy proposed what would today be called a single-payer plan. In 1974, the debate had morphed into Nixon vs. Kennedy-Mills vs. Organized labor. Despite the prediction in the second clip shown, the result was stalemate rather than passage in 1974 or 1975.

Did you know that the root of chemical imbalance is caused by negative thinking? The negative thought trigger

October 27th, 2009 -- Posted in chemical health | 4 Comments »

s a destructive chemical reaction. A positive thought triggers a health chemical reaction.

The negative thought is a lie & believing the lie causes one to suffer in their health. The positive truth brings life & health.

You can have positive thinking if you are connected with God, the ultimate Truth.

God loves you, and you are precious to Him. Son of God died on the Cross to save us from condemnation, and qualifying us to Heaven. Just come to Jesus with genuine repentance and faith, and you will find peace, hope and meaning for your life. Heaven is wonderful beyond descriptions and forever without end. Never miss Heaven for anything of this troubled world. Life on earth is short and uncertain. Get right with God before it is too late. Best wishes for happiness and Heaven! (www.spiritlessons.com)

Are there really any health benefits to drinking diet soda?

October 27th, 2009 -- Posted in health diet | 16 Comments »

It bugs me that people always insist on drinking diet soda, all the time, even if they don’t need it! When I say, "If you want to stay healthy, just drink water. Diet soda is unhealthy," they reply, "Um, duh diet soda is healthy! Why do you think it’s called DIET?!"
I know that water is a better beverage than diet soda. But are there really any health benefits to drinking diet soda, instead of regular?! Or is diet soda just disgusting toxic waste filled with artificial stuff?

The only benefits are to your teeth unless you are diabetic or otherwise sensitive to sugar.

It is called diet because most people cut back on calories while they are dieting. Dieting is probably the worst thing someone can do to themself. All they do is induce mild starvation, which increases fat storage and reduces metabolism (i.e. gain weight now, harder to lose later).

If I were you, I would cut out the soda (and any unnatural looking juices). They regular kind are essentially a liquid candy, something that should be enjoyed on occasion, not a staple. And I could not have described "diet" soda any better than you did.

Artificial sweeteners, like sugar, induce the glycemic response, the body’s reaction to an expected "sugar rush". In other words it causes "sugar crashes" and the increased storage of fat. Adequate exercise counteracts this as the net calories do not increase, but combined with inactivity will cause weight gain.

In fact, most artificial sweeteners have more serious health risks.

Saccharin (pink) causes cancer in larger doses (not proven in humans).

Aspartame (blue) causes intense pain for those born with phenylketonuria (very rare…though I have met 2) and breaks down into several poisons, including formaldehyde.

Sucralose (yellow) actually has more calories than sugar, though the body cannot absorb it easily. If an intestinal bacteria ever figures out how to convert it to sugar…it will become the next aspartame.

Then there are sugar alcohols, for the most part they are natural extracts that do not have as many calories as sugar. I doubt there are serious health risks, but some are used as laxatives for a reason.

PLEASE READ THIS:-DO YOU STILL THINK YOU ARE SAFE WHEN HAVING SEX EVEN WITH PROTECTION?

October 27th, 2009 -- Posted in health protection information | 19 Comments »

HOPEFULLY EVERYONE – MEN AND WOMEN ESPECIALLY PARENTS WITH YOUNG DAUGHTERS WILL READ THIS VERY LONG ANSWER..AS IT COULD SAVE MANY LIVES: SO I MAKE NO APOLOGIES.

Unfortunately I don’t necessarily think it’s a question or morals.Hormones rage and things get out of control. BUT IT IS A QUESTION OF LIFE OR DEATH. So I am not condemning you but honestly trying to help you by giving you this information. You are seriously putting your health at risk by having sex at a young age. There are many sexual transmitted diseases out there for anyone who is sexually active and can cause disfigurement, sterility and death.

1) It is a proven fact that young girls who are sexually active are more prone to CERVIAL CANCER. Not sure which country you are in, but Jade Goodie – a young mother of two who was made famous in a reality t.v. show, and is always in the public eye, has only months to live due to Cervical cancer. I believe she only found out this condition last August and it has spread to many other parts of her body. Had it been found earlier she most probably would have survived. Now 6 MONTHS LATER has been told she only has a few months left to spend with her young children and family. However I believe that the earliest age women are screened for this is 25 and the debate is now on as to whether the screening age should be lower- due to more and more young girls in sexual relationships. News reports say that the health agencies have had a massive increase in woman now going for smear tests – so Jades terrible condition – horrific as it is for her, her family and a shock to many of us in UK – her terribly sad and emotional journey through this condition (which is being shown regularly on t.v.) will most likely save many lives.

There is a vaccine now available for young girls called HPV The vaccine is routinely recommended for 11 and 12 year old girls. It is also recommended for girls and women age 13 through 26 who have NOT YET been VACCINATED or completed the vaccine series. However this is only recently been available so their are many young girls and women out there who are literally SITTING ON A TIME BOMB.

My advice to you is get a medical check up immediately for any sexually transmitted diseases regardless of how careful you THINK you are being, Please don’t put it off due to embarrassment, doctors are relieved if they can either prevent or treat a condition early.

Women over 25 receive a letter from their local health authority suggesting they are due for a smere test. This is followed up by a reminder..however many women risk their lives by ignoring these letters.
a) because they are too busy
b) They are not registered with a doctor
c They are afraid the process will hurt (test lasts only a few minutes- is slightly uncomfortable ( but is surely better than painful chemo and the possibility of death if disease goes undetected)
d) They fear of positive results and are literally ‘burying their heads in the sand)
f) They are too embarrassed

2) You are also at high risk of catching CHLAMYDIA chlamydia as are men. This too can cause AWFUL and PAINFUL health problems. Again condoms are not a reliable protection for this.

3) You are also at a high risk of getting HERPES, GENITAL WARTS or many other STDs.. as are men.

4) Regardless how much protection you have a pregnancy is always a risk even if you are on the pill as ANTIBIOTICS viruses, certain medications, upset stomachs etc can prevent the pill doing it’s job and condoms are not always a reliable protection.

WILL ALL YOUNG PEOPLE GET TESTED PLEASE – AND PARENTS GET THEIR YOUNG GIRLS VACCINATED AGAINST CERVCAL CANCER. I wish you all a long and happy life.

My apologies for making it sooooo long. I am not pointing the finger rather the dangers…and hoping that someone who takes time out to read it will get checked out rather than leaving it too late – thats all. If one peron who unwhittingly has a problem and gets checked out and they get early treatment then I’ll be happy. I know you cant change human nature everyones at it! Ha! but with good education..and it isn’t all good is it? Then perhaps a lot of heartache and unnecessary deaths can be avoided. Thanx for taking time out to read at least some of it anyway.
Question re; my preference about skin to skin. Yes I did when I was 15 yrs old and early into my 20’s had a full hysterectomy (womb removed). Luckily I already had two children. No one gave me a reason but now I look back I suspect it was because I was active too young and never got checked out. Things were never talked about in those days. STD’s etc and in fact no one ever mentioned the word Cancer..only in hushed voices. Things have changed a lot – some for the better but a lot for the worste and also one doesn’t have to have multiple partners – just one time can get you infected. One day perhaps people will take note. Even the threat of Aids doesn’t seem to put anyone off nowadays. Those who think I am a kill joy I ask you just one question…Do you put your seat belt on in the car? If so why?

Sometimes Cervical Cancer just happens, so even if you have not been sexually active you should still have the vaccination. All women should have smear tests as well. This shows up abnormalities YEARS before they even turn to pre cancerous cells.

Poor Jade, she is only 27 and has two young sons.

What we can learn from this that everybody should have a smear test and anything abnormal should be reported to your doctor.

Jade had a miscarriage and abnormal bleeding and pain and was tested for bowel cancer first, cervical cancer rarely shows symptoms until it’s too late

How does health insurance work – when insurance premium can generally increase?

October 27th, 2009 -- Posted in health insurance | 2 Comments »

If family of two have health insurance, and one of them decide to use it for couple medical procedures will insurance policy premium go up?

Please advice.

Thanks.

No. The premiums will not go up for that. Usually health insurance is up for renewal once a year and the cost increases at that time, but not just because you use your policy. The cost of group health insurance where I work has had double digit increases in the premiums every year for 10 years now. The health insurance companies are out of control.

If you have insurance and need health care – go get the care you need. Check out this site, if you want to find the cheapest health insurance just in one minute,
