Question regarding health and repeated workplace chemical exposure?
I work for a multistate industrial and office specialty cleaning Corporation. I am a special projects person whom specializes in floor care. A large amount of fluids I use in cleaning are hazardous. I have been using the latex gloves provided for in handling these chemicals and through time have experienced that the chemicals have leached through the said provided gloves that I been using for 2 years(I purchased special gloves to handle very well the rigors and chemicals) Anyway, prior to purchasing my gloves, I experienced excessive dryness, cracking, blistering of the hands. I believe in purchasing may have been a little late in the game as my fingernails have totally stopped growing and by observations are reseding and disfigured. I have constant headaches, nausea. going unnoticed a few times while using the chemicals and provided latex gloves the gloves had deteriorated and chemicals had permeated into my blisters.
will my ailments go away? increasing forgetfulness as well.
Your employer has Material Safety Data Sheets on each chemical or compound that you can come in contact with on the job. Ask for them, read them, see if they clear anything up for you.
If you have unexplained symptoms, take copies of the MSDSs with you to the doctor so he knows what you’ve been in contact with. There will be no charge for this – it’s covered under your state workers’ program.
I need health tips for eating on-the-go! HELP!?
My school is competing in a competition and we are planing to eat out alot. Again if you know my previous question I watch what I eat. The leader of the group said we will probably being eating the continential breakfast at the hotel, pizza and fast food!?!?! I searched online for helathy tips and found "some things" but I don’t think they are enough. I’m wordering out there if anyone can help me and fast! What are healthy tips for eating fast food, pizza, the contential breakfast, and possibly a sit down dinner? btw… she said we could bring snacks. What are some good on-the-go low cal snacks that you don’t need to keep cold? Thanks for your help!
I’d suggest bring low calorie snacks such as rice cakes. When eating out just get water with your meal.
As far as eating out at fast food joints go for veggie burgers, 6 inch veggie subs (with swiss), steamed brown rice, and grilled dishes.
Mcdonalds – Grilled Chicken Classic sandwich and wraps(270 calories) are the best no extras though.
Taco Del Mar- go for whole wheat tortillas and they have a 320 calorie chicken burrito at most locations.
Panda Express (beware lots of sodium)- Veggie Spring Roll, Black pepper chicken with mixed veggies.
Arby’s (beware lots of sodium)- Regular Roast Beef Sand-which.
Dominos- 12” Medium with Crunchy Thin Crust, Sauce, Cheese, 2 Veggie Toppings, Grilled Chicken (2 slice serving 300 calories)
Jack and the Box- Grilled Chicken Strips with Teriyaki sauce(high sodium), fruit cup.
KFC- Grilled Chicken Breast(180 calories), corn on the cob (ask for no butter or seasoning), House side salad (hold dressing), toasted wrap roast fillet w/out sauce.
Round Table- Garden Salad.
Good luck with your trip. You can also ask for nutrition information at restaurant and decide accordingly.
I’m hearing a lot of good things about health/diet supplements. Anybody have some good ones to suggest?
I want to lose weight before New Years’, but I need something that will help me lose weight faster. I already diet as well as exercise. I’m just looking for a little boost in my weight loss efforts.
Silly bots. Anyway, I’ve read some pretty good reviews about Fit Zone Advanced, it seems to be a lot of buzz about it on the net. It’s funny when it comes to diet pills/supplements, most people don’t like them and say that they don’t work.
I just don’t go for that, in my opinion most people are too lazy to realize that it is a supplement, not a miracle. If you are realistic about what to expect, you won’t get your heartbroken. Diet pills aid you in your weight loss, it doesn’t cause it.
Explain the advantages gained by keeping data and records on a LIMS?
LIMS = Laboratory information management systems.
(i) Science Data: COSHH records, scientific data, scientific apparatus records, waste disposal records, health and safety checks, training records, specimen records, calibration records, sample throughput and managing and Data Protection Act data.
(ii) Workplace records – stock records, work schedules, servicing dates, confidential data of employees (Data Protection Act).
Explain the advantages gained by keeping data and records on a LIMS, include at least TWO examples from both scientific data and workplace records above.
Records Management
How come health insurance companies are allowed to discriminate against people with disabilities?
How is it legal for health insurance companies to discriminate against people with disabilities (I mean, medical disabilities), but other companies are not allowed to, like grocery stores are not allowed to? Or maybe it IS legal for other businesses to discriminate against people I am really just curious, that’s all. About the legal process. health insurance companies kind of make me mad, because of this issue. I know I am expressing a political opinion, but I ask you not to troll. If you have a different opinnion thatn me, you can argue for it, but please don’t start trollin.’
You mean in writing policies? That’s one of the reasons we need health care reform, the insurance companies exclude people with pre-existing conditions. Which kind of ruins the whole concept of insurance, which is based on pooled risk.
